    Brown Pelicans
Pelcanus occidentalis
This is a common sight on the pacific coast of Costa Rica. Thes pelicans fly in large flocks, effortlessly gliding over the crests of breaking waves as it hunts for fish. They can also be seen flying low above the coastal rainforest in elongated v formations, each bird taking it's turn in the slip stream of another, like in a speed cycling race.
